If you follow us on Instagram, you’ll be familiar with D, a member of our team. That’s me! And this is my journey with psilocybin.
We’ve recently released a number of new psilocybin products to our site! While cannabis is something I’ve incorporated into my life for years, it wasn’t until this past weekend that I finally got to experience psilocybin (magic mushrooms)! I wanted to share my experience with you, in the hopes of answering any questions you may have and putting your mind at ease if you’re at all nervous to try any of our shroom products.
First things first. Why did I even want to try psilocybin? One of the amazing benefits of psilocybin is its ability to reduce the frequency and intensity of undesirable states caused by various forms of mental illness including anxiety and depression, which I battle daily! In addition to my regular routine and coping mechanisms, I was in search of a non pharmaceutical aid that I could take when I felt like I was spiraling.
For those interested, some of the other ways I cope with anxiety and depression include:
I started out with our Mystic Gummy, rootbeer flavored!
Our lab-tested psilocybin mushroom gummies are created with care on the beautiful West Coast of Canada. We grow and produce our products with the highest standards of quality, testing, and innovation to bring you an experience that enhances your life. Psilocybin magic mushrooms are known to have a profound impact on your happiness and well being.
They are available in rootbeer, blueberry, raspberry, fruit punch and green apple, and come as 1 gram lego blocks!
You can purchase the Mystic Gummies HERE.
I wanted to take a slightly higher dose than a typical microdose because I was interested to see how my body reacted. I took 125mg at 2:00 pm, waited for an hour, and then took another 125mg at 3:00 pm. This would be considered a “creative dose” and not a true “microdose”; a microdose is typically 100mg.
At the risk of sounding dramatic, it was one of the wonderful feelings I have ever experienced. Unlike THC or higher doses of psilocybin, there was no feeling of intoxication or of being stoned. A sense of calm very slowly enveloped my body, starting in my forehead. I felt content, peaceful even. My mind, which is often filled with loud and intrusive thoughts, was calm and quiet, something I haven’t experienced in a very long time. I was happy, excited for the day and felt fully awake. It was beautiful.
While the initial feelings typically last up to six hours, the positive effects can be felt for the next two or three days. Experts in the field say to not take psilocybin daily because our bodies will build up a tolerance to the substance and it will diminish the positive impact. Instead, I’ll be following the James Fadiman system. Fadiman recommends taking a microdose once every three days: Take a microdose on Day 1. Then, do not take a microdose on Day 2 or Day 3. On Day 4, take another microdose.
As I write this, I am on the second day post-microdose and have woken up, both yesterday and today, feeling positive, energetic and excited for the day! I am able to stay focused and present, which has helped me to be more productive and calm throughout the day. Life changing? I’d say so.
We have released a number of new shroom products over the past few weeks, but have many more on the way! If you’re looking to microdose for mental health purposes, like me, then I would recommend you start out with the Mystic Gummy due to its consistent and simple dosing (the lego brick makes it easy to cut the block into desired doses).
The Magic Mushroom section of our blog is a great place to start; we’ll be continually adding new content as time goes on. Start with Benefits of Microdosing Psilocybin Mushrooms and How To Microdose Psilocybin Mushrooms.
I hope that my first experience with psilocybin has empowered you to begin your own journey. Everyone’s is different and that is part of what makes it so beautiful! Happy healing, friends!
